Michael Reuben Goldman
Michael is a writer, historian, and storyteller whose work weaves Jewish identity, sacred imagination, and global legend. His debut novel, The Book of Roads and Kingdoms, is a sweeping Jewish epic set in Late Antiquity, blending historical fiction with myth and political intrigue. A political policy advisor, attorney, and amateur cantor, Michael brings a deep intellect and lyrical voice to every story he tells.

Michael Reuben Goldman is a novelist, storyteller, and student of Jewish legend, inspired by ancient texts, lost kingdoms, and timeless questions of identity and destiny.
A historian by education, a lawyer by training, and a political policy expert by profession, Michael has long dreamed of revealing the untold epic of Jewish sovereignty and greatness in the Late Antique world.
A native of Houston, Texas, with a BA in History and American Studies from Brandeis University and a JD from the University of Texas School of Law, Michael is the grandson of the legendary Rabbi Elazar “Louis” Feigon of Galveston, Texas, and his wife Ethel née Goldberg, a Hebrew teacher descended from the Royal House of David.
Michael lives in Miami Beach, Florida, where he spends his time reading history, learning languages, singing in synagogue—and catching the sunrise and sunset on the seashore.
About the Book
A Jewish epic and a pastiche of global legend, this novel follows Josiah ben Zakkai, a young Prince of David sent from the academies of Baghdad into the wild north—to the Khazar court, to Viking raids, to a destiny steeped in both politics and prophecy. Through a sweeping journey across Babylonian, Khazarian, and Norse worlds and beyond, Josiah confronts the mystery of his own identity—and the stories a people must tell to survive.
